new to bikes in general, I don't want to hear a bunch of crap about "don't get a harley for a first bike, get a honda or something" crap. I have heard enough of it.
now that has been settled, can anyone tell me what to expect on the motorcycle permit test in ky. I have only ridden about 2 miles total, so it might be common sense to the beginner with a month or two of riding experience, but I want to get the lincense before I buy a bike so the HD dealership will let me test ride a few before I commit to a specific bike.
Welcome & FYI - you don't need m/c endorsement to take BRC (beginner riding course). Recommend you sign up @ HD, local LEO/Sheriff Dept., or look online at MSF web. Good luck!

I wanted to get the permit, so the BRC would double as a M/C endorcement test. thanks for the info and help.
correct me if I'm wrong, the permit is the written test? does the BRC qualify as a substitue for the road test?

Here in NJ, you take the written test to get your permit, then take the BRC. It's a Friday night, Saturday, Sunday course (in all weather). If you pass the course you get a certificate which you take to the Motor Vehicle Dept. and they issue you a mc license.
