Default New Owner needs help :)

What is up my friends. I just bought a '98 1200 Sportster and when I ride 2 up my fender rubs the tire. The tire is the proper size and I am wondering what I can do to remedy this problem. Thanks

Stock shocks? Shocks adjusted to highest setting? No lowering kit? Driver & passenger weight?

Find out if the shocks that are on there now may be a shorter shock than stock. According to the picture there, it appears to have been lowered some.

Thanks for the help, I will definantly check those shocks. Looking at a J&P catalog now ... Also I am having trouble adding my picture to my posts. I followed the instructions but no luck.

Thanks again

As far as I know they are stock and I have them set to the highest setting. Not sure about whether it has been lowered or not. Sorry I am a newb but love my bike.

Thanks

You can measure the shocks off the bike(uncompressed) from eye to eye to find out if they are shorties,or you may find out by lifting the bike on a jack and measuring. You could also take a measurement on the front fork tubes from the top of the slider to the bottom of the lower tripple tree, (it looks shorter than stock) and compare it to another sportie at the dealers. I think you will come up with a measurement that is ONE inch shorter on your bike than the stock bike just from the picture.
