been thinking about getting another bike after not having one for twenty something years and this one will be my close friend from now on. i wanted something simple { air cooled} mid sized, cast wheels-tubless tires,no chain final drive, and sharp looking so i keep going back to the 883 sportster since i really wont be touring but mostly short stress releaving rides in the evenings or weekends.the only thing that im concerned about might be the E.F.I. system and was wondering how some of you are getting along with it or maybe i should try to find a 2006 model thanks
Welcome from NC. Go for the 07 and EFI. Very reliable. Also, go up to the 1200. It gives you a little more power. Not that you need it for stress reducing short bursts, but it will be a smoother ride. The 883 doesn't have as much power, so it makes up for the deficit with gearing... more RPM's... which translates into a more enging vibration.
OH yeah... don't wait for "spring". Get 'er now! There are some good deals out there with dealers sitting on winter inventory. Also, it gives you time now to put a few accessories on without missing the spring riding.
