I had owned 5 "other" bikes when younger but had never been able to purchase a Harley. Had been telling my wife for years that someday I was going to own a Harley (bucket list item)!
Purchased my first hog (age 65) in Oct of 2010. A 2006 Sportster 1200 Screaming Eagle. I didn't last three months before I wanted something bigger and with six gears.
Traded the Sportster for a 2011 Ultra Limited on 25 March 2011. On April 1st, I had my upper right quadrant of my lung removed to determine what was inside it?
Turned out to be Lymphoma cancer and I am still cancer free 1 and 1/2 years later!
I still managed to put 38,964 miles on the bike in the first eighteen months of ownership.
Am currently off the bike for a while because of my 3rd ( and final according to the doc) rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder.
Will be racking up the miles in another month or so!
Happy to hear you are CA free. I agree, a good ride is one of the better pleasures a man can have. Only 2 kinds of rides, Good and Better. Get well soon buddy.
