Hello everyone,
I been lurking around the internet for a Harley Nightster. I have been riding dirt bikes for 13 years, but haven't rode one for about 3 years now. I had a yz125 and a CRF450. I now own a 2012 Honda Rancher utility quad.
I have never had any kind of street motorcycle in my life. I have been throwing around the idea of taking the motorcycle safety course and getting my license. A buddy wants to take the class with me and also purchase a Harley.
I have never rode street motorcycles because I have always been afraid of the idiots on the road hitting me, or turning in front of me. I work in law enforcement and I have seen some pretty nasty stuff in my 9 years experience.
Do you guys think a Nightster would make a good starter bike? What about the 883?? I'm 5'9" 215 lbs.
Welcome from sunny Arizone!
There are no starter bikes, only first bikes ;-)
Try em all, note where your butt, feet and hands are and are you comfy. Everyone is different. It's worth it to rent or do a demo ride if you can.
Oh, and get a bigger wallet ;-)
Hi Franco and welcome. I'm in the same boat as you, rode dirt bikes when I was younger and thinking about getting a street bike. I like the iron 883, a simple bike and a good price. I also like the blacked out look. I'm in Norcal, where are you?
