I am a US Navy Vietnam War veteran, Ford pickup truck driving, serious gun nut (I got a few serious pistols and rifles, roll my own ammo, and shoot whenever I can).
I was born and raised in the hills of Northeast Alabama (ROLL TIDE!) and now live in the Houston Texas area and used to be an airplane mechanic and avionics technician for over 20 years but gave that all up to become a special education middle school math teacher in 2005.
Back in my wild Navy days way out in sunny San Diego, I had a Honda CB 750 and a Triumph 650 Bonnie and some assorted Japanese dirt bikes at one time or another, but I never did get around to getting that Harley. I looked around and found a nice 2001 FXD Dyna Glide for a good price and now I spend the weekends on the road...doing what I have dreamed of for almost 40 years.
I am a pretty decent mechanic and electronics tech from all the years working on all kinds of airplanes but I know very little about maintaining and customizing a Harley. I feel pretty confident that there are some serious Harley nuts hanging around here that I can pick up some pointers from...
