I've been lurking here for a while and this is my first post. I ride an XL1200C, and I love to do DIY things with it, and this place has been a great resource. Looking forward to learning a great deal more and having a good time!

I live in the central Montana plains, so though it gets cold and it dumps snow once in a while, we get warm Chinook winds that roll from the south and melt the crap on the roads. There are definitely "warm" stretches where the temps are in the 30's-50's, where you can ride around town or even do a 200ish mile day even in the middle of January. Just as well because I have no idea how to winterize a bike. I used to live in central Cali though, and the riding season is legit! I wouldn't mind moving back and never driving my pickup.
