I've done that trip many times as I have family in NM and TX and have lived in CA, AZ, and now NV for the last 20+ years. Are you planning to make your trip on I-40 or I-10 or more off the beaten path? What part of CA will you be leaving from?
I've done a lot of riding in those areas and don't think you'll run into more weather then just thunderstorms which are easy to avoid, wait out or push through if needed.
I'm always up for a ride if I can get the time off. Send me a PM when ya get more specific plans laid out.
p.s. I just noticed you are a female rider. So you know, my wife would be coming too. I say this so you don't think I'm trying to hook up and so you would understand in advance that where I go, she goes too. That said, I'm actually very pleased to see a woman not just riding but being adventurous...very cool.
