Been hanging around for a while and finally decided to get around to posting an intro thread. I've been a Harley MMI grad for 7 years and have owned and flipped quite a few bikes, but this is the first Harley I'm keeping.
Bike is a 2003 XLH883 Sportster that I bought with the top end disassembled and extra led wiring all over the place. I was thrilled when I found the ad cause I've been looking for a late model frame mount at the right price for quite some time. I just started going to MMI when the 100th anniversary was going on, so it's pretty much been my dream bike for the past decade. So I did what any other self respecting 883 owner with a blown top end would do, I slapped on the 1200 top end of a buell. I also installed some sportster saddlebags, chopped the stock exhaust and using some u-bends rewelded it into a 2-1 shorty system, new handlebars, 4" straight risers, biltwell kung fu grips, new mirrors. Pics are from after 2 weeks of owning it and getting ready for a weekend ride to wine country. Did about 700 miles that weekend very comfortably, way better than the weekend trips on the VLX I sold to get this bike.
Still thinking about road king shocks in the rear, turn signal relocation, coil/ignition relocation, possible tank lift (or frisco a cragslist find), and a solo seat. Definitely not done modding yet.
