I been to the honda VTX forum and there is some serious HD bashing over there, some of those guys really hate harley riders, don't know why. I'm sure they will give you a lot of grief butno big deal.
That red/black custom you like is my favorite bike too. I bought a standard 7 months before they came out with the custom and HAD I KNOWN, I would have got the one you like. MaybeI will get one in a couple of years, my bike runs so DAMN good I'm going to hang onto it for a while.
There is a dealer about 2 miles from my house that has one like you want and it has been sitting over there since last fall. Everytime I go to the dealer for something I go and stare at it for a while. They look much better in person, beautiful gray metal flake stripes on the fenders. You ought to just hop on a plane, buy it and then ride it home, that would be a great adventure.
