If you have never ridden up and down the Cap Rock in eastern New Mexico then you have truly missed out. Going west on I-40 or old 66 hop off at San Jon head south toward Clovis, when the road ends take a right and head back to Tucumcari, you can hop back on I-40 and you will get a taste of riding the Cap Rock, it's about a 2 hour ride, but you will never regret it.
