Hi All,
Fairly new to internet forums. Just want to introduce myself and say hello to all.
Hope someone can help point me in the right direction...
I have a 2005 Road King Custom, 50,000 miles.
I was riding home last night on the freeway when I started to feel some vibrations.
First, I thought it was a rough patch of asphalt. Changed lanes, no change, vibration still there.
Then, I thought tires might be blown or flat. Pulled over and checked tires, nope. Front and back tires look fine.
Then, I thought maybe something is loose, like the rear fender, saddlebags, etc. Gave the front and rear end a good look over, grabbed fairings and bags and gave a good shake...everything feels solid.
At a complete stop, the engine sounds and feels normal...no increase in vibrations or weird noises.
Definitely feels different when moving...vibration comes back.
I didn't have time to look into it further but am thinking maybe...
1. spark plugs? (50K miles on original plugs. Still looks good at last check at 40K miles).
2. Plug wires? (original wires).
3. Low tranny/primary fluids? (Have never seen oil dripping/puddles under bike).
