Have to be honest with you Lad, Dyna is not my favorite mode, but YOUR spirit is... Noticed that YOU said "... Turning 30, NEEDED a Harley..." and though you are still a 'youngin' (30'ish), apparently mid-life-'realization' has kicked-in early enough for you to take FULL advantage... LUCKY for YOU... We wish YOU happy-trails/traveling mercies and a quick transition to the 'TOURING CLASS'...

Thank you so much!!
I do love this Dyna, because I feel like it suits me perfectly right now, and more importantly, because I can afford it (with my wife's generous and enthusiastic blessing). But the great thing is, I now have equity in a pristine Harley Davidson. And since I bought it used, it shouldn't depreciate too much with me taking good care of it. So, a few years from now when I decide to step up to a Heritage Softail or a Road King, I will have a nice trade in to make the transition easier!
Thank you all for the well wishes, and the same goes back to you all!
I am turning 30 this year, and I really wanted to be a Harley owner before rolling over.
Thanks to the wise advice I received here in General Chat, I was able to narrow down my hunt and pull the trigger on an '09 Dyna Super Glide.
My wife thinks I should name it Black Lion, because when she asked me, "Does it feel like you're riding a horse?" I said, "No, it's more like I'm riding a lion."
Not only am I turning 30 this year, but we are also celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this summer, so, my wife was excited for me to buy a Harley as part of the celebration.
I've already received a ton of great help, so thanks to everyone for the kind assistance! I will do my best to pay it forward!

OK... Keep an open/'balanced' mind... And BTW, if your wife is THAT 'enthusiastic' about your being engaged in dangerous a/vocation(s), well, good luck...
