NW Houston is a nice location to ride out of town from. I used to live in Sugar Land and always rode out westward, lots of nice safe rural roads. I will have to find some nice bike rides from the coast. I'm not a fan of I45 during rush hour.
Ya 45 sucks, you can take 146 north and go through Kemah to avoid the 45 crap.
I just moved to the NW from Richmond/Rosenberg, and have done all the rides you can do around Houston. Fayetteville, the forest, Lake Livingston, Yankee's Tavern, plus the hill country.
Me & the ol lady (don't tell her I said that) are gonna go to Yankee's Sunday I think. Pm if you'd be interested in going.
Welcome from Melbourne Australia. That's about as far away from Texas as you can get but I've ridden across Texas. Enjoy the forums. All the help you'll ever need is right here.
