Just a brief introduction. My name is Tim, and I ride a 2010 black denim Fat Bob. This is not my first motorcycle, but is my first Harley Davidson. I grew up on a Honda Rebel 250 I bought when I was 14. After that one bit the dust and I moved out I bought a Suzuki Savage 650 I kept for several years.
I have to say neither of those two compare to my bike now. I absolutely love her!
I just recently did the 20K service. Thanks to the help and advice of this forum, I was able to do it myself, read about what fluids people are using, and adjust the clutch. I was surprised at how easy the clutch adjustment was. I went with synthetic Mobile1 20w 50 V-twin formula in all 3 holes. She runs and shifts like new again. I don't know what was in the primary and transmission before, but I was developing a clunk when I shifted into first, then it would whine no matter how slow I was rolling and with the clutch disengaged. All of that has cleared up.
It was time for a set of tires so I replaced the factory dunlops with Metzlers 880's. I have to say I am impressed with these tires so far. They have a pretty good following, so I'm sure they will hold up. After getting the tires installed I embarked on a 4 hour round trip cruise. On the way home I encountered a pretty good thunderstorm. Not one slip, spin out, or loss of traction of any kind. Granted I was taking it easy, but I liked the way they handled the wet roads.
Anyways, I said this was going to be brief. I look forward talking with all of you in the future.
