Default Long Time Britbike, First Time Harley Owner

Hello All,

I apologize for posting this in the wrong spot. I'll try again.

I'm in the process of purchasing my first HD. It can be viewed here (at least for awhile):

http://www.harvsharley.com/default.a...1-0-938651.png

As you can see I am more of a "Trout chasing a shiny lure" chromo than the blacked-out look type. Please let me know what you think. Final price ended up being $14,250 out the door.

There's right at a year left on the transferable warranty. Some of the "keeper" HD & After market add-ons look pretty pricey (re. mag wheels, custom paint, air intake, Rush slip ons, Black/Chrome engine theme, Kury forward controls and grips). I plan to sell the windshield, seat/pillion/carrier, and bags over the course of the winter and pick up the HD stock brown distressed solo seat somewhere. Maybe some white-walls after wearing out the first set of tires. Just shy of 5k miles!

I'm tired of wrenching Brit-bikes. Sold my '73 Norton Commando in 2002, my '77 Triumph Bonneville in 2005, and I'm getting ready to part out a 2005 Triumph America due to a cracked engine casing. I'm hoping to get some maintenance stability out of a late model HD as I'm not getting any younger and time is flying by.

So, please forgive the idiot future questions as this Marquee is new to me. I'll try and ask fellow HD riding friends, ie. "Where do I find non-methanol high octane gas?" etc. etc, or the forum search function first.

I'm looking forward to this new adventure. I appreciate all future help and advice.

Tom (aka Pyungshin)

Welcome from the other side of the Potomac. Great riding around here once you get out of the suburbs.
