Welcome Jeff, I have been to Costa Rica 21 times and can totally relate to your comments on how crazy it is to ride there. It really is too bad that so many Americans found out about it and ruined the place. Pura Vida.

My wife and I went for a ride last Wednesday and I paid particular attention to the attitude of this engine. Just to add some clarification to the way that it is acting.....I noticed that it will pull strong in first and second and up to 2000 RPM in third. Then the fuel backs off, the exhaust becomes very quiet, the engine quits pulling and I have to wait for a few seconds for it to pick up some RPM. It will eventually begin to pull harder but never as it does in other gears.
I'm considering replacing the HD computer with one from Vance & Hines.
Any thoughts on that?

Hey Jeff isn't the bike still under warranty? I know you said the service guy took it out for a spin and the way you describe what it's doing ya think he would notice, does it ALWAYS do that in third and is it more noticeable when packing someone if it is take the service guy for a spin and maybe he'll notice it. Happy trails buddy.
