Welcome. If your going to retire you might want to think of buying a touring bike.
Only reason I say that is your going to lots of time now for long rides. Day long rides maybe???
Also you don't want to find out you need to go bigger and loose money cause you didn't go big first time around on a fixed income. I'm making a lot of assumptions and I apologize but trying to make you think it out good.

Buy what you want from the start, provided you know how to ride.
Until then, it's just a thought.
I'd like to have an RV too.
