originally from Dighton, Taunton area. Had a gsxr600 now have a street glide. can easily do 2-300 miles in a day at 30 and be fine. whole different life on a cruiser. Especially for the passenger
I have a test ride scheduled tomorrow at High Octane Harley in Billerica. I saw on Yelp though that they have a tendency to offer crap on trades and like to sell over MSRP. I'll go, ride, and talk but I'm not even quite ready to pull the trigger just yet anyway. But I'll see what kind of numbers they're talking about.....
...I also saw on Yelp that American Harley in Leominster has a solid rep and sells below MSRP. When I am ready to buy I'll probably have Boston Harley in Everett, High Octane, and Amercian give me their best prices and pick the lowest. I'm patient and not scared to shop around. I'm NOT paying a cent over MSRP. The most I'll pay, OTD, is MSRP (unless that proves impossible at all the dealerships)
Good luck with High Octane. I took a trip out back in January, looked at a bunch of new and used bikes. Sales guy Steve was great, showed me the whole dealership spent about an hour showing me all the new Street glides, used ones, used road glides and really spent the time to talk about all the bikes. Finally decided I wanted a price on a new SGS, and a 13 SG with 1800 miles that just got traded in. Bike had a quick detach tourpack and slip ons. Thats where the good experience ended for me. Dealer quoted me $27400 for the 14 SGS WITHOUT tax and title!, and 22500 for the 13 again without tax and title. I understand the 13 had a few nice extras, but thats still over MSRP when it was new! I went back at them with $23000 for the 14 with a full exhaust, they said no but would do a standard SG with exhaust for that price. Offered $18500 for the 13 but they claimed they had more $ in it then that. Ended up walking out and didnt really look again until a week ago.
Put down a $500 deposit on a new 2014 SGS in Amber Whiskey at American HD should have my new bike next week sometime. Much better dealing with American. Its tough to get a great deal on a Harley, not really like a car where you can get $5-7k off msrp, but $5k above msrp was crazy. I would recommend going to see Fran at American if you dont want to waste time with trumped up charges and bs fees. Best of luck with your search.
