Welcome from another UK newb and congrats on the new bike.
I'm considering a new bike myself. I've had other bikes - z1000, ducati monster and I've ridden a few harleys, most likely come down to a fatboy or a fat bob.
Can I ask - what else did you consider and why did you go with the fat bob?
First - thanks to everyone for all the welcomes. Greatly appreciated.
As for the "why" the FatBob, there's a few reasons...
I wanted dual front disk brakes and standard ABS (although I think all UK bikes are ABS as standard this year)
I loved the look of the bike with the chunky front end - and I also like the back end.
I found I prefer the position of the drag bars over apes.
I really like the look of the forks better that the Fat Boy forks, kind of sleeker - also the headlights.
And the handling. The FatBob is meant to be about the best handling of all Dynas - which to my (noob) mind makes it about the best handling Harley of all, bar Sporties.
I loved the softy breakout - and almost bought one of them, but I just prefer the vibe of the Dyna for my first Harley.
Welcome from another new member in sunny SoCal! Fat bob is a great looking bike - my choice was down to a Fat bob and a Night Train...went with the Train, but I still love the look of the Fat Bob. There are some pretty cool aftermarket double headlights that look much better than the stock setup, in my opinion. Congrats on the new ride, and have fun!
