Hello everyone! I just finished my motorcycle safety course. I had never driven a motorcycle in my life prior to taking the class, and I want a lot more time in the saddle before taking any bike on the road. My dad's been riding HD for over 40 years and will disown me if I don't get one myself.
I signed up for this forum because I'm ready to buy my first bike and was looking for good info on what to buy, how to maintain it, riding tips, accessories, and any information I can get. Also, I want to share my own experiences as I go through them.
After doing my own research I'm thinking of getting a Heritage Softail Classic. I'm about 5'10 180 pounds. I want something that's going to be smooth for me and last a long time. Also, as a new rider and prone to panic brake, lock the front tire, and superman over the handlebars, I like the ABS in the newer models that will save me from myself.
If anyone has any suggestions or advice I'm all ears. Other than that I'll goof around the forums for more info!
