Have been lurking for a couple of days. I have been researching the bike I want ( 03' Deuce) and other general information. Any quality informationI have gathered has come form this site. I even got to see how inter site drama was handled ( a misunderstanding between members) and it was handled very well by all parties, frankly I was impressed at the attitudes of the members and the way the community handled it. I have been around motorcycles most of my life, my father and grand father both ride (well Gramps is done, he can barley walk anymore but if he could he would). I grew up on stories of my Grandfather riding his first Harley and the various bikes hes had over the years. Good stuff. my father followed suit and did the whole 70's chopper thing then in 81 he scored a 47 Indian Chief. Many a year on the back of that Chief. He sold it to keep the house, but after things calmed down he bought a softail. During all this time most of his friends had Harleys and I would marvel at those machines.
I started riding at 10, with a 50cc honda dirt bike, and stayed that rout till I went to boot, but after that fell away from riding, however it was always there. Bikes would go by and I would just pine away and try to bury the burning itch as they passed by on the way to Laconia or Americade.
My own fault really, I let other things get in the way of something that was a part of who I am, convinced my self otherwise and just carried on.
So yeah I don't have a bike yet, however that will soon be remedied finances providing. I hope that this season will finally be the one. I did try a few years ago however it fell though - wich worked out because finances kind of tanked at that point anyway. But this year - Im going to ride - if I have to strap a weed whacker to the neighbors 10 speed, Im going to ride.
