hey all, new member here, I live in Washington state and recently picked up a '99 fxdwg. It's been on it's ear at least once, a tale told by the heavy scratches on the front/top of the triple tree, takes some creative thinking to picture that scraping the hiway (ouch). Whoever rebuilt her put a tank, seat, wheels/tires from a fatboy on her, not sure what year. She's a little rough, could use some paint, but I like the way she looks, even so.
I grew up making home-made powered gocarts wih my older brothers, graduated to minibikes when I was 9, then on to Norton/Bridgestone 90's, and eventually a couple larger street/endure metrics in my twenties, but this is a very different animal for me - I'm loving it, I should have done this years ago!
I've switched to a mustang solo 2-up since I bought her and got the FB sissy bar on (for the next potential OL, lol), got some soft bags and added a small rack on the fender similar to the original. I'll update with some newer photos soon.
I've been wishing I didn't have to leave my 110lb bulldog at home every time I go for a ride, so I bought a very light trailer to mod for him and I'm looking into hitch options, which, btw, is what led me to HDF. I'm connecting with Hitchdoc, hopefully they'll offer a decent hitch for this ride, if not I've found a couple other potential sources. (Thanks!)
Anyway, glad to have found a good source of info, laughs and whatever else comes along with the membership. Just one question - when do the HDF Dancers arrive at my house with the pole? :P
