Looking to purchase rain gear for trip to Sturgis. I don't want the gear to take up a lot of space, but it needs to be durable. Appreciate your recommendations.
I am all for Belstaff as it is made in England and they know about rain. I have some from the 90's and it still works great. Kinda bulky though. http://www.belstaff1924.com/
Get a good set of rain gear. It can be used to keep you warm on a cold night. Dry on a wet day. This way you do not have to pack such a heavy coat, just layer and use the rain suit as a wind breaker. I prefer one with a hood. I hate it when rain starts streaming down the back of my neck while riding. Get something with a strap on the bottom of the pants to hold them down, velcro in the legs make them quicker and easier to get on. Get some Gator's to keep your feet dry. In my opinion a good rain suit is a Top Priority. I ride year round about 15k and don't leave home with out it. Everyone has an opinion.
Flash gives some good advice here. After looking at the prices of the HD models, I decided to go for a Wallymart brand and never considered the fact they didn't have zippered or velcro'd legs and, without them, you can't get the pants over your boots. I wound up buying a HD pants for $70.
