Hey ladies and gents, my name is Bob and I have a 1974 police shovelhead. It's a beast but I like it. I most likely am having normal problems with it right now. I let it sit for some time and now it's throwing oil out of the crankcase by way of the crankcase breather. My question is, can I drain it manually or do I have to run it all out or untill it goes back to where it belongs? It's hard to find someone around here in the bootheel of Missouri who will work on my 74. Another problem is that when I called s&s carbs about my s&s and told them what it was doing they told me the float needle was sticking or warn down. Well I got a mess now, can't get the cable off carb, tryed and got it our of where it fits but can't get it no farther. Took the 3 bowl bolts out but won't come off so don't know if the accelerator pump screws need to be removed also, that is where it seems to be not coming apart for me. I know this is a bit wordie but I just don't want to break anything. I have a carb hanging by a cable and can't just put it back on because the cable isn't where it is to be.
