I was perusing Craigslist (as always) and I saw an add: 2007 FXD, 9,000 miles, 6200... I thought this bike is hot, or it's some kind of scam. Quickly checked KBB - $8,800, if bought from a dealer...
I had a very bad experience with a brand new Harley in '94. Been riding Jap bikes ever since (with the occasional Norton). But lately I've been thinking about the misery of all those fairings... 3 hours to r&r the stupid plastic, and 10 minutes to change the part...
So I call this guy. I actually bought the FXD for $6,000 cash!
I'm selling a '93 GSX-1100G. I've done this before. I spend a year getting it right. After I did it is so WICKED fast... I'm getting rid of it, before it gets rid of me!
I'm selling a '04 ST-1300A. I can't ride the thing for 1 hour without my butt hurting so bad I have to stop. When I come off the interstate the radiator fries me, like a hamburger... Lost cause.
The new Harley has what I call a "king and queen" seat. I rode it all day. I wasn't exactly comfortable butt mine didn't hurt. The bike works quite well. Still a Harley but it is a long, long way from the sad, sorry thing I rode in 1974. I like it.
