A buddy of mine pointed me over this way, so thought I'd drop an introduction and say hello.
Been riding since I was 15, but took a few years off after nasty fall in '83. Decided to get back in the saddle again in '98, so to make sureriding was still in my bloodI bought a Vulcan 1500 Classic that I customized to the gills. Traded that bike in for a 2000 Road King. Lost the RK in 03, and by '05 the wife decided she wanted her own bike. So instead of me getting another RK we took the economical way out and bought 2 metric cruisers. Last October she decided riding wasn't for her and sold hers, so I was left with a metric cruiser and no riding partner.
The buddy who showed me these forums traded in his metric about a month ago and kept telling me about these "managers specials" setting at his dealership (05 and 06 RK for a steal of a price). His taunting finally got the best of me, so last Friday I decided to set things right and traded in my 05 Vulcan 2000 (great bike, LOTS of power). Dropped by my local dealer (same one I bought the 2000 RK from) and fell in love with theStreet Glide (Pewter Denim). They gave me a helluva deal on my trade in and an out-the-door price on theStreet Glidethat I just couldn't pass up.
So here I am, new owner of an 07 Street Glide with some extra bolt-on chrome and some "two-up friendly" conversion parts on the way (tour pack, passenger floorboard conversion, etc). The wife is even on board with riding with me again. Win/win! =)
