Default Tyre pressure

So my bike has a tubeless rear on a solid rim and the front has a tube on a spoked wheel. The rear drops a pound after sitting for a week or two, while the front can drop 4 or 5 pounds in the same timeframe. Is that just the nature of the tube or is something wrong that I should be fixing? TIA.

Checking the tyre pressure can lose a pound! I'm not sure that is enough to get excited or worried about. Many pressure gauges are not any more accurate than +/- 1 psi, if they're that good. If you are worried about the front a new tube may solve the problem.

How old are your tyres? If more than say 6 years then change them both and use a new tube in the front.

Using nitrogen will help reduce the amount of pressure lost over time.
Unless your dealer or tyre place has a special like mine does, its expensive...

Ok, thanks guys. Both tyres are about 12 months old. The front got a new tube at the same time as well as the rubber strip thingamajig that covers the ends of the spokes. I'll just do like I've been doing for years and regularly check pressures. It can't hurt to be too careful when dealing with tyres, I was just curious why one would consistently lose more than the other. Thanks again!!
