I picked up something the other day and lost pressure in my front tire. It's a spoked with a tube. I did the soap test and couldn't see any bubbles, couldn't see anything either. Pumped it up overnight and it was pretty flat again.
Dealership took it and found a tiny pin hole that punctured the tube, but nothing in the hole. The tech at the dealership is saying they usually always reccomend a new tire, but the hole is so tiny he's asking if I'd rather leave the tire and replace the tube.
I've seen some talk of this with tires with no tube, but I'm not sure what to do on this. Tire is new this season. If the hole is really that small, do I have anything to worry about?
Dealers will almost always want to replace with new.
Some folks go with a patch while others go with a new tube.
If wheel is coming off then i would remove the tire, inspect internally and then replace tube.
If i was on the side of the road, i would use some ride-on tire sealant.
If i had time i would take it to an independent and would avoid the dealer.
