Tire Lube question
What do you use for tire lube to mount tires?
I've read dish detergent contains lye which will corrode aluminum rims.
I don't want to use the commercial stuff cause I can only buy it by the pail and I'm only mounting two tires.
Armor All?
Windex?
Other?
Hair Spray?

I've used Dawn dish soap, WD-40, a small dab of grease, and a few others. Having mounted 1,000s of car tires in a previous life using actual tire lube, nothing has worked better than dish soap for me.

An old school Indy taught me 50/50 vegetable oil and water. Works for me.

Lightly diluted dish-washing detergent, the squeezy bottle variety.
