Questions for the Warriors
1) I get a lot of slip from my stock rear tire, and when I can, I like to ride aggressively when comfortably out in the country.
The bike has a lot of ***** and is a blast to ride. Question 1, can the stock tire be replaced with the next size up, I've read pro's and con's on stepping up the size, I especially would like to beef up the rear tire.
2)Question 2: Money/Finances aside, who do you think makes the highest quality set of tires that are built for speed and handling on the big touring bikes?
3) Question 3: Who do you think makes the most stylish air cleaner that will help that 120R breathe ?
Thank you,
Drive safe guys, looking forward to hearing for you...
As for the air cleaner, the best flowing one is the V2 by HPI (flowing over 400cfm, well above what your heads are flowing). They come in black and have an optional (highly recommended) external breather or vent to atmosphere setup which is nice to keep crap from building up on your pistons. I sent my backing plate, the standoffs and cover out and had them chromed to go better with my bike. This unit will be used on my 124" build in my '08 Ultra. I am using the Ness Big Sucker Stage II on the other bikes I mentioned and they work very well but will be switching to the V2 on my 117" softail when I go through that engine to swap heads and cams, shooting for 140+ TQ out of it...
dfwhockey17 ( above) is correct, a performance oriented tire with a softer compound will improve traction. However this usually involves a tradeoff in treadwear
