Default 2007 fatboy rear tyre

Hi guys, im posting this on behalf of my dad. He rides an 07 fatboy and is due to change tyres. He currently has the HD stock tyres however he finds the rear can be very unpredictable in wet/greasy conditions.. he is looking for recommendations for a new rear tyre that will give him peace of mind when riding in the wet and not having to worry about the rear stepping out/sliding.. we are uk based

Thumbs up

Hello old chap from across the Irish Sea and welcome to HDF! I have used Avon tyres on my Harleys since the 1970s and have them on all my V-twins at present. Tyres designed and made in the British Isles, by a US-owned firm, so gotta be good! You should find suitable tyres from their Cobra Chrome range.

I worked in Larne for a while, back in the '70s, which was a bit exciting on occasions! I've owned several new Harleys and Buells and the original tyres have never been anything to write home about, so I have always used aftermarket brands. An Avon rep once told me the US Harley market was by far their biggest, probably why Cooper Tires bought them out! They give great grip in all conditions and weathers and also perform very well when the sun shines - what more can man desire?!
