Rim question

I just picked up a set of 16M/CxMTM3.00 spoke rims, they are approx 1/2 in. narrower across the hub and the bearing id. is .230 of an inch larger. Can they be made to fit safely?

That dimension suggests your new wheels have either 25mm or 1" bearings, either of which can probably be changed to take 3/4" ones. However the fact the hubs are narrower suggests your bike is a few years newer and it would be wise IMHO to find direct replacements. I've done a bit of wheel swapping over they years, but have always ensured that I get compatible hubs. Do you know what year these new wheels are?
