Handling performance and tire width...

I'm doing a COMPLETE rebuild on '97 RK and I want to know how wide I can go with the rear tire without adversely affecting the handling performance of the bike. I'm putting a 124" S&S in her, so I'm trying to get more rubber on the road. That said, she'll be leaning a lot, as I live in a mountainous area. I've been looking into wide tire kits but I don't know at what point you start to affect the handling performance.?.?.? I've got a 150 on there now and I'm wondering if I can get away with a 200??? Thoughts???

Worry more about tire compounds than width. Any time you throw a wider tire on your rear you change your steering geometry. You can only lean so far before you drag some steel.
