Default Odd tire size question…

Hi all, new member here, long time reader. So I have a question that has prob been answered b4 but…..
I have a 2004 rk flhri that is lowered 2” front and back. I was wondering if I could still get away with putting an 18” rear wheel in the back? Anyone on here had experience w this? Worried about clearance from lowering it.

Or should I just stick w the 16”…prob easier to find tires…hmmm

Appreciate any help 🤘🏼

No experience with an 18" rear, but you could and get a lower profile tire. This should give you the same outer diameter as your current tire.

Current touring bikes have 18" wheels and the SG/RG and Specials are lowered 1" in the rear.

I agree with sticking to the 16", as the higher profile tire will give you a softer ride. My '13 King is lowered 1" all around.

Hello friends! I have a question, I have an FXS I'm changing the rear wheel that is 16" for a 17" I want to put a tire with a lower profile, the only one I found that doesn't come into contact with the fender is the metzeler 150/60/17 this tire is for sport motorcycle I looked at the specifications that this tire supports 300kg my motorcycle is 310kg do you have any problem using this radial tyre?

I’m not an expert by any means but it sounds like you are already over max ratings….and that’s even before you are sitting on it. Then add yourself, a passenger, and some gear….you would really be pushing it in my opinion. But that’s my opinion. You may wunna start your own thread…you might get
more replies.
