Smile FOBO Bike 2 on 2019 FXLR

I am very safety oriented, including practicing TCLOCS before every ride. But checking the rear tire pressure is a messy, difficult operation--even with small hands. I was also concerned about the buildup of tire pressure during my frequent summer rides in 115 degree heat. So, I bought and installed the FOBO Bike 2. App setup and Installation were easy, and the read-outs of both tire pressure and temperature are very accurate.

However, the FOBO unit has one costly drawback. Unless you are qualified to remove the tires and install replacement metal valve stems, the cost to add metal T-valve tire stems will add about $150+ to the cost of adding the FOBO TPMS system. I am near the need to replace the tires; so I just installed the FOBO sending unit on my rubber valve stems and will roll the dice in the short-run.

I know this post is old and that's why I am posting. I just added a set of FOBO bike 2's to my stock 2014 wheels. Short rubber stem like yours. Have you had any issues at higher speed? I had a Garmin TPMS set up on my older Ultra Classic that had 2007 Street Glide wheels on it. I hit about 80 and experienced immediate tire deflation from the Garmin cap striking the rear brake caliper which ripped the much longer rubber valve stem almost completely in half. I just picked up the 14 Ultra Limited and added the FOBO and we're heading out on a trip in a few days. Has brand new tires so it will be a while before I switch to the metal T-Valve stems like I had on the old Ultra. Made filling so much easier plus the safety of the metal stems.
