This is a rear Shinko 777. This is the only thing on the tire that looks like a date code. Any ideas?

I only see three digits,
is it “102”?

I believe three digit tire date codes were before the year 2000
They went to four digits after that.

If that is a three digit date code it would be 10th week of a year that ended in 2

I had some 1994 -1995 tires on a 1995 Road King I bought last year with 9600 miles. Tires looked decent, tread-wise, and had been indoors for fifteen years, so no cracking or visible dry rot, but they were harder than a hockey puck.

So OP's tires are from October 1992?

I suspect that’s not the date code. He should look for a 4 digit code.

I've slowly and carefully looked on both sides of this rear tire. Those are the only markings that resemble what the date code normally looks like. This is on my 2015 RGS. I don't know if anyone else is running Shinko 777 tires that sees anything different?

I should add - to me, it looks like the mold stamp simply says "02". I see how it may look like 102... but either way, what do you think that would indicate? I ask because I bought the bike used and even though there is some meat left on the bone, I want to replace if they are unusually old.
