Default metzeler tires

I went to metzeler 880 marathon tires on my Ultra Classic. The rear tire 140/90 is wearing flat in the middle instead of all the way across the tread and is worn out at 7000 miles. Is this an air pressure issue? I've never had this problem with Dunlops. The Dunlops wear fairly even all the way across and last 9000 - 10000 miles. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd get about 8,500 on my Road King Classic before you'd see cords showing through. Just replaced the rear on the Ultra and was surprised at how much was left after a bit over 10,000 ( probably 2,000 left but heading to Deals Gap next week )
I did switch to a Dunlop E3 based on the reviews on this forum so I'm looking forward to see how much I get with it.

check your air pressure. metzlers run 48-50 in the rear.

I also got about 8k on my Me880s. Still much better tire than the dunlops.

I'm lucky to get 4000 out of a rear tire. Can't figured out why, either!

What pressures should I run front and rear on a Ultra running Metzlers. I'm running about 40psi front and 42psi rear. Is that too low??

Sorry for the hijack

150/80/16 40-42 psi and the front 100/90/19 38 psi

metzelers with numaric sizes require more air because thay have two belts and not three metzelers with new alpha size have three belts need less air. read the side wall of tire it will tell u max air presure if you have old style tire you cant run 38lbs
