Is anybody else having pulsation problems with HogPro rotors on Brembo equipped bikes? Hogpro tells me they have a problem and do not know what to do.
I need to get my 3rd set of front rotors in 6,000 miles.
They admitted problems polishing the surface leaving irregular thickness on the pad area, causing the problem. Second set I got from them was not polished on the pad area, and still have problems.
Chaps my a$$, now I have custom wheels and need to run a different style rotors to fix the problem....
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, on my 3rd set of rotors (26,000 miles on my 2008 street Glide)
with my hogpro indy rims. I'll let you know what i find. Phil offered a set of 2-piece rotors for about $500, but for that money, I better get a lifetime warranty.
After close examination, i discovered that the rotors are not centered in the calipers. One rotor is spaced outboard, the other inboard. So, when the pads are new and full thickness, no problems. But as the pads wear with miles, the rotors start contacting the "tabs" on the calipers and warp them. Waiting on Hogpro for a response, the main suspect is the wheel/ hub assembly, I think we are dealing with the hub dimensions being off the centerline of the tire, or the face runouts are not true on either the hubs, wheel, or a combination of the two.
I currently have the same problem as the original post. I have Hogpro Lemans 21" rim and matching polished rotors. Fine at first but after about 1000 miles they started pulsating. Unaceptable. Called Hogpro and let them know what was going on and the person I talked to said it might be my pads and suggested I change them. I didn't listen. I think they are just fishing for solutions to the pulsating. I told a bike builder what was going on and they said they had the same problem when they changed rotors but not pads (they said they both should be replaced at the same time). The bike builder changed pads three times on his bike but the pulsating never went away until they changed to new rotors and new pads. I think I will just go ahead and change the rotors and pads. Did Hogpro change your rotors for free? (exchange old for new?)
