Metzler or Avon or ???
Avons are a little slightly more sticky than the Mets but I think if you check your air pressure weekly you will get more miles from the Mets.
We have been installing a lot of the E3's lately and have yet to anyone complain about them. I'm die hard Mets on my touring bike but think I will try the E3's when I need to change.
We do tend to see more dry rot or cracking in Avon tires more than others. They seem to be affected by the sun and weather more than other tires.
Not sure why but just our observations.

You can find Avon tyres for your Harley here.
To research car/truck tires I use a site called tirerack.com. Is there something similar for motorcycles? They give fitment options, user reviews and "expert" road test reviews, something similar for bikes would be very helpful.
I am probably going to end up ordering from online, can you specify with any of the vendors for "fres tires"? or are you stuck with what they send?
