brought my 97 Road King in for service today and the manager said the spoke wheels were recalled. Anyone hear about this. I cant find any info on this recall. Thanks
There have been a few split rims on RKs here in the UK, where the outer part of the rim breaks away from the central spoked part. Look forward to hearing more so I can pass it on over here!
sorry it took so long to get back.
i spoke with the previous owner of the Road King and he said those are actually after market wheels. They are a 42 spoke wheel and the service guy from HD said because the center of the wheel is aluminum it can fail.
The rims are in good shape I'd hate to replace them if I don't have to
