I have been getting a lot of squeal with my rear and front on my '05 Fatboy. They were also rubbing a little while riding. I tried to adjust the rear wheel - thought it got misaligned. I pulled the pads out and filed and sprayed them down with brake-cleaner, cleaned the rotor and pads - put them back in and it was still rubbing while rolling, but the squeal was gone. Squeal was back to normal after one 40 mile ride. The pads have a ton of life left to them.
I'm pretty sure they are original, I bought the bike used last year and it only has 6300mi on it.
Spraying with brake squeal fluids are only a temporary solution. Sometimes it is the type of pads you put on your bike. I've found I don't get any brake squeal when using the Lyndall Z+ pads.
Had to change out the speedo cable and after I re-installed everything, the front brakes rub real nasty...I know eventually the will wear..But it is annoying as hell! Did I do something wrong...All components are where they are supposed to me....
Any ideas or just live with it till it wears on the pads?
