Default Help...cant get brake pressure..thoughts?

I could use some opinions here. I recently put new wheels on my bike as well as new brake line. I got everything working only to realize the offset on my wheel was wrong. So i took of the wheels, (pulled the caliber off and hung it from a zip tie while I got the wheel fixed. To put the wheel back on, I had to take out the brake pads. New wheel got installed, all was good. Then I put the brake pads back in and remounted the caliper. All looked good. But then, now front brake pressure at all. I have been trying to bleed the brake for 2 hours....still lots of bubbles coming (even moreso if I use my "mittyvac").

- the big concern I have is the fluid level is not going down in the master cylinder despite all the bubbles coming out????

Any ideas.....bike is a 2000 FLSTF.

appreciate any thoughts.....

Fill the mc to the top, zip ty the brake lever to the bar, let it sit over night. Lay the cover over the mc to keep dust out, but don't tighten it. If you haven't done this by now, cover up your paint and anything else you don't want brake fluid on.,,

You may have to bleed the master cylinder...Sometimes the air will get trapped inside the cylinder and it takes damn near forever to get the air down to the bleed fitting at the caliper...It can get messy but pump the brake lever a few times and slowly loosen the banjo fitting that mounts the brake line to the master cylinder while still applying pressure to the lever...You will hear a slight popping sound when loosening the fitting while the air escapes.

I have dual front discs recently went to SS braided lines and chrome master. Used a marinade syringe at the hose at the master with speed bleeders at the calipers. Took me about 20 minutes to be up and running. I was in the same boat as you, never seemed to get any lever pressure. All the lines to the calipers didn't use more than an ounce of fluid, which suprised me. Seems kinda crude, but it worked for me. Looks like its been awhile, guess you got it pegged.

Loosen the bleeder screw and use your thumb as a one way valve while operating the brake lever.
- squeeze lever and hold down
- cover bleeder with thumb and release lever
- repeat

As long as the resevoir is kept full during this should not take many pumps of the lever to get air out of the system.
