i own a 2000 softail deuce i just made a long trip and come back sunday.I jacked up the bike today to check tires and just look around i noticed the front tire wouldnt spin but about one turn pushed the brake pads in with screwdriver now spins good put brake on release tire spins good. i just cleaned the calipers and pistons with brake kleen before trip.Is that just normal with stock calipers or what is the soulution.
You need to be careful of spraying brakekleen,carb cleaner,contact cleaner in the area of the calipers. Those calipers have cupped pistons that have o-rings that hold the pressure seal so that while under pressure,fluid don't come out and the pistons retain pressure. If you get that stuff in between the caliper housing and the pistons,it will break down the o-ring and gum up on you. Besides that,these style calipers have a habit of cocking slightly.

There are several things that may be causing this. A build-up of brake dust can make the pads stick and not retract properly, it can also stick to the pistons and stop them retracting. In addition, when were the brakes last bled and the fluid changed? If you haven't done that for a while change your brake fluids and also clean your callipers.
