Question Just How Do I Remove Those Darn RACES

Hey Guys ( Sitll A Newbie & Learnin' Most The Time )

O.K. guys here I go (the novel continues)

Tell me what's the right and best way to do this and with what tools that I posted here - Whew

Do I use: FLAT HEAD CHISEL to tap evenly around the old race to get it out ?

Do I use: RACE DRIVER to set the NEW races into place ?

Do I use: DRIFT PINS to drive out the race ?

Do I use: RACE PULLER to easy the race out ?

Is it a good idea first to use PENERTRATING OIl around the old race to maybe loosen up the race before pulling it or tapping it out ?

I would say the middle pic is the best way. I use a brass punch for removal and assembly but thats just me.

Exclamation I'm Listening To What Your Saying - And Thinking It Might Work

Hey Soft02

I'm trying my hardest not to blow the inside of my hub - that will cost $$$ me BIG TIME + MY WIFE will me !

Did you use these DRIFT PINS (attachment below)?
Did you use PENETRATING OIL to lube up around the race(s)
How much if any DAMAGE occured to the hub when you removed your races?

This middle picture is a Race Puller - what do you think about using that tool?

Also, when GOD will the race does come out - What about that last picture of the Race Driver to reset the New Races in ?

Tell me what does hold the Race in place in the hub ?
Is it a SHELF or does the hub NARROW in order to STOP the race from falling INTO THE HUB ?

I await all you answers ( jump in guys ) help this ol' fart out

A shelf holds mine in place but ive seen a floating tube in the center of some (not harley). I only use penetrating oil on assembly for the next removal (gotta think ahead). The third tool is nice but if its a real bugger the punch has never let me down and yes those punches are what I use and the middle tool is to install the races. Is it a spoke wheel or mag? You are talking about a wheel right.
