Default Single disk on old bagger

Hey guys and gals. I have a 1988 FLHTC. She is gonna get a 21" front wheel and matching rotor. It has the dual, single piston brakes. I was thinking of running a single disk setup and cut off the brake tabs before powder coating the legs. Would a 9/16" bore master cylinder and a quality 4 or 6 piston caliper provide better, or at least as good stopping power?

You need to change to the smaller diameter master cylinder. I have the stock twin caliper set-up on my 1990 bike, but with 6-pot calipers. If you fit a single 6-pot you will still need a single caliper master cylinder. However check that with your chosen brand supplier!

Thanks! I think I have decided to use the HHI 6 piston. I will find out the recommended master cylinder bore. Thanks! The stock front brakes really suck!!
