I am trying to get an 010 Fatboy front wheel into my 06 Softail std!
I have made a rotor spacer and that puts it all in line..
My question is ....Will the wheel installation kit for the STD fit the Fatboy wheel, bearing in mind that the Fatboy wheel has 15mm x 25 x 52 ABS bearings and the Std 's are
3/4"(19.05mm) x 21 x 52mm
Would I also be able to use existing spacers etc.
Harley changed the hub in 2007. The bearings/spacers in the wheel install kit for your 06 will not be correct w/out modification due to spacing differences. We have tried to put a 2001 front laced wheel on a 2007 bike, from Duece to a Night Train, and could not get the spacing correct using stock components. We do not like to modify/machine spacers and such unless we absolutely have to do so.
I hope this helps
