Default wheel retro fit

ok so heres the scoop. i have an 03 roadking and i have a set of really cool wheels i have off an 03 heritage softail. the front rim is drilled for duel brakes..

the heritage wheel has a bearing in it for the 3/4" axel, can i just pop out those bearings and press in bearings for the 1" axel?

would there be any spacing issues with the right side rotor?

thanks in advance

Just measure the width between the rotors on your Roadking wheel. Do the same to the Heritage wheel, and if the measurements are the same, you should be able to swap rims with no problems. I'm thinking that the wheel from the Heritage is made for a touring bike, being that it is a dual rotor wheel. Heritages come with a single disc up front. When you swap the bearings, make sure to install the 1" dia crush sleeve with the 1" bearings.

As Toofat suggests compare the diameter of the central rotor holes. 1" bearings should indeed fit, I have used a softail wheel in my Glide, however there are a few things to consider. The 1" bearings are twin row *****, so wider than the single-row 3/4" in there at present. The bearing spacer tube inside the hub is a larger diameter and may not fit inside the hub. I had to machine the central hole out to clear (my local Yamaha dealer did it!).

The simplest thing to do is buy a bearing kit from your dealer, which comes with the correct bearings plus that spacer. They are normally supplied to fit custom wheels, when bought new and come with fitting instructions.
