Anybody have one of these under-seat mount backrests on a Softail?

I like the looks of these better than a standard sissy with side plates.

I went ahead and purchased the backrest that was discussed at the beginning of this string. Happy to say that even though mine is a '99, this backrest for 2000 and up works. Only modification is the need to drill a hole and a notch for the supplied nut to come up through the fender, same thing that is already used forthe rear mount. So I ordered the pad when I realized this bracket will work.

Springer, how solid does it feel? Good and strong? I want one of these as well but have been hesitant as I wasn't sure how sturdy they might be??

It seems fine, the bracket and pad are not very tall so shouldn't be any leverage on the front mounting bolt. What I question is the thickness of the flat washer supplied in the kit, seems pretty thin. I may change that. If you get one, notice your seat bottom, might be a clearance problem for some seats, but there is plenty of slotted area on the bracket to drill the hole. I have the badlander seat.

Oh yeah, they have them for several different fenders, but since it mounts on top it should fit just about anything.I bought my fender from V-Twin and the sissy bar bracket is for a WCC fender.I believe you have to use a FX sissy bar though.It tells you not to use a sissy bar taller than 10".I figure that's a leverage thing.
