SERT is an acronym for Screamin Eagle Race Tuner....in order to tune your ecm you must have something that will talk to it...there are many on the market...SERT is marketed by the moco...it has more tuning parameters than the also very popular PCIII...problem is, for most its too tunable...you will need someone proficient with dyno tuning on the SERT to fully use its potential...there are far more proficient dyno tuners for the PCIII...if you plan on doing cams, big bore, or other performance mods you will need something...if i had it to do over again, i'd have bought the Daytona Twin Tec with WEGO II Autotune bc it tunes anything, automatically...keep in mind each time you have your bike dyno tuned it will cost money...thats money on top of the price of the tuning unit...if you fiddle with your bike, a DTT will pay off...if you dont fiddle with your bike and just do pipes and air, then get a download and rock on
Thanks for the education, just saved me some money and time, sticking with the pipes and ac, if I wanted more power than what a Harley delivers I think I would have went with a crotch rocket, 90 MPH is good enough for me.
I was told at the HD dealer(M&S Chbg. PA)the other day that "they" didn't have a mechanic that was proficient enough to do a SERT there. Is there any dealers in the southern Pa, Northern MD area that does these, and dynos the bike too ?
